While addressing the Ugandan community during the celebrations, Ambassador Danny M. Ssozi, Deputy Head of Mission at Uganda’s Embassy in Berlin, called on Ugandans abroad to remain active partners in the country’s economic transformation.

Reflecting on the theme, β€œEmbracing our Sovereignty with Hope and Visionary Leadership,” he said independence carries a continuing responsibility to create wealth, increase domestic production, add value to raw materials and compete in regional and international markets.

Ssozi recognised the diaspora’s contribution through remittances, investment, entrepreneurship and skills, alongside the promotion of Ugandan culture and tourism

Welcoming Bagonza, he encouraged community members to share their experiences and explore opportunities to contribute to national development

β€œI encourage Ugandans here to meet with him, share your ideas and concerns, and discuss practical ways to contribute to Uganda’s development,” Ssozi said.

He also highlighted Germany’s importance as a partner in trade, investment and technology transfer, and invited German businesses to explore opportunities supporting Uganda’s ambition of building a US$500 billion economy by 2040.

The Embassy, he affirmed, remains committed to strengthening links between Ugandans abroad and institutions at home. #UgandaDiaspora
