He commended the Ethiopian community in Uganda, referring to them as "not just guests, but valued contributors to Uganda’s economy, culture, and our shared vision for an integrated Africa."
Mr. Bagonza also called on Ethiopians to deepen their investment in Uganda, highlighting the country’s stability and economic potential.
“Uganda remains one of the most peaceful and secure countries in the region, with a steadily growing economy, a liberalised investment regime, and a strategic location within the East African Community and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA),” he said.
He encouraged the community to explore opportunities in key sectors such as agriculture, tourism, manufacturing, ICT, and logistics.
In closing, Mr. Bagonza thanked the Ethiopian community for their resilience, patriotism, and commitment to excellence, noting that:
“Together, as Ethiopians and Ugandans, we must continue to move forward in unity, progress, and African solidarity.”
Mr Bagonza was accompanied to the event by his deputy, Mr Henry Wabyona and the Diaspora Unit’s Liaison’s Officer, Mr Topher Matsiko.
