Molly Tigambirwa Kalyegira Atwooki, a Ugandan elder living in London, United Kingdom, has commended the State House Diaspora Unit for its efforts to strengthen the connection between Ugandans abroad and their country.
Atwooki, who has lived in the UK for more than 40 years, paid a courtesy call on the State House Diaspora Unit in Nakasero on Tuesday, where she met with the Head of the Unit, Senior Presidential Advisor (SPA) Mohammed Bagonza, and his deputy, Henry Wabyona.
During the meeting, Atwooki appreciated the Unit's work in supporting and engaging Ugandans in the diaspora.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of maintaining a sense of belonging and staying connected to Uganda, even while living thousands of kilometres away.
During her visit, Atwooki also received service from the Unit in processing her National Identification Card, which she will obtain within 48 hours.
The State House Diaspora Unit continues to support Ugandans abroad in accessing relevant Government services and encourages diaspora members who require assistance with National ID registration and other diaspora-related services to visit its offices in Nakasero.
