Uganda made a strong showing at this year’s Expo under the theme “Naturally Uganda, Naturally Organic”, led by Hon. Bright Rwamirama Kanyontore, Minister of State for Animal Husbandry, and Maj. Gen. David Kasura-Kyomukama, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF).
The delegation of 14 participants, including organic producers, agribusiness entrepreneurs, and government officials, showcased Uganda’s premium-quality agricultural products to buyers, investors, and global distributors.

As part of the Expo activities, Mr Wabyona, together with the MAAIF delegation, went on a technical field visit to Emirates Bio Farm, the largest organic farm in the United Arab Emirates. The visit, led by Hon. Rwamirama, enabled the team to explore best practices in large-scale organic farming, sustainable production systems, and value-addition models that can inform Uganda’s own agricultural transformation.

Uganda’s participation in the Expo comes at a time when the UAE has significantly deepened its economic engagement with Uganda. Recent figures indicate that UAE foreign direct investment into Uganda stands at approximately USD 3.5 billion, with agribusiness emerging as one of the most promising sectors for future expansion.

Today, Mr Wabyona also paid a courtesy call to the Uganda Consulate in Dubai, where he met Ambassador Aisha Ismail, Consular General, and Deputy Head of Mission, together with other embassy officials.
