The dinner, held at the High Commissioner’s residence in Pretoria, marked the conclusion of a week-long capacity-building and training workshop for embassy staff and Honorary Consuls from six countries across Southern Africa. The workshop focused on strengthening diplomatic service, enhancing diaspora engagement, and bolstering Uganda’s presence in the region.
Principal Judge Abodo joined the dinner after leading a delegation of judges from Uganda’s Industrial Court on a benchmarking mission in South Africa. She emphasised the importance of close cooperation among the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary, saying such synergy is essential for improving service delivery to citizens at home and abroad.

COUSA President, Mr. Kibombo, expressed gratitude to Ambassador Amoru and his wife for their warm hospitality. “This is the first time we have been hosted to a dinner here. We now feel that we truly have a home in South Africa,” he said.

Mr. Bagonza applauded Ambassador Amoru for revitalising relations between the Government of Uganda and its diaspora community in Southern Africa, noting that engagement has significantly improved since the Ambassador assumed his duties.
